Finalists Revealed Top Schools Awards 2021

Which Media has today released the full list of finalists for The Top Schools Awards 2021. With 29 categories of awards, the Top Schools Awards 2021 represents the most comprehensive snapshot of the Education sector in the region ever undertaken.

In total, 90 different schools, and 223 finalists are recognised across the 29 Awards, with awards ranging from Best Primary School and Best School for Music; Teaching awards for Best Primary and Secondary School Teacher; and Special Awards for Child Happiness, the School Most Loved by Parents and the Most Outstanding Contribution to Education in the UAE.

The 2019-20 Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education in the UAW was awarded to DrAbdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

The Award for Best School in the UAE 2021 will be decided by judges based on the wining schools in each of the curriculum awards, these including Best Indian School, Best Blended IB Curriculum School, Best Blended Arabic Curriculum School, Best British School, Best American School and Best International Baccalaureate School.

The final recipients of the Awards are decided by an independent judging panel based on a more than two-hundred page document produced by the Editorial Board of The Top Schools Awards, this comprising journalists, educationalists and experts drawn from across SchoolsCompared.com, WhichSchoolAdvisor.com and its advisory panels, which includes experts, parents and students. Data is compiled from information presented directly by schools as well as from the UAE’s most comprehensive, subscription-only statistical and analytic educational database, Edstatica.

The winners of the Top Schools Awards 2021 will be announced on the UAE’s leading education web sites for parents seeking impartial and independent expert advice and guidance on choosing the best schools to educate their child(ren), SchoolsCompared.com and WhichSchoolAdvisor.com, on December 6th 2021.

James Mullan, Co-founder of The SchoolsCompared Top Schools Awards 2021 commented:

“The Top Schools Awards are a labour of love, passion and expertise.

Taking over a year to produce, and subject to extended consideration, analysis, discussion and exchange of views, these Awards provide the most serious, comprehensive, educationally informative, and informed, view of achievements in education by those that deliver for families, day-in and day-out, across the educational landscape of the emirates. The Awards are about recognising the talents and achievements of schools and educators in the UAE – and their vital, centrifugal impact on the lives of children.

In the simplest terms, they are about celebrating those who are often not seen or celebrated nearly enough – and us all, wherever we may be, and whoever we are, saying a very sincere and heartfelt thank you to every single school and educator, finalist or otherwise, in the region.”

David Westley, Co-founder, The SchoolsCompared Top Schools Awards 2021 continued:

“Where to begin? I believe that we should all of us in the UAE, regardless of the industry or sector we work in, be beyond proud of our schools, their teachers, school leadership, and supporting staff, for what they achieve each year for our children.

I believe passionately, and for good reason, that we have, taken as a whole, and given the size of the UAE, the most vibrant, diverse, effective, inspirational, highly performing and outstanding, in short the best, educational sector anywhere in the world.

These Awards state this with clarity, alacrity, and precision – and aim to bring recognition and our gratitude to the whole sector. The finalists we announced today should each and every one of them be extraordinarily proud. We are in no less than absolute awe of what you achieve.”
