About the role

Join our fast-paced international environment, and you will deliver a fit-for-purpose curriculum, built on the UK National Curriculum with a concept-based approach in mind, and IGSCE/AS-A-Levels. You will challenge your students to set ambitious targets for themselves, and seek out and implement innovative teaching practices to enhance the student experience and outcomes.

You will understand the language-rich environment to create and the schemes of work to contribute to in order to teach Science to speakers of other languages than English, evolving in a non-English-speaking environment outside of lesson time. Your educational philosophy will equip you with the understanding of the need to teach students based on their current skills and data information. Your expertise and agility will allow you to identify the steps needed for student progress in your subject whilst injecting opportunities for subject-specific language acquisition, effectively support the beginners, stretch those who work above age-related expectations, and contribute to good practice by sharing strategies with colleagues.

About you

Receptive to feedback and ready to embrace change, you will be keen to share best practice with colleagues and peers.

A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement and personal investment within the classroom.

You will be able to teach all three Sciences at Key Stage 3 and Biology to Year 13. Being able to teach a second Science at Key Stage 4 (and 5 potentially) would be an advantage.

You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Qatar, including possession of a Bachelor’s degree and a teaching qualification from a face-to-face (non-online) course.
