About the School
GEMS FirstPoint School (FPS) opened in 2014, it is positioned in the heart of The Villa community in Dubai. It is a Premium British Curriculum School, providing an excellent standard of education for over 1500 students from FS1 to Year 13 students, with exciting plans to expand further in the coming years.
The school has grown rapidly and continues to be popular with families from across Dubai with over 90 nationalities represented. About the Role
GEMS Firstpoint School, Dubai, are recruiting for an Assistant Principal (Data & Information Systems) to join the team from Summer 2022.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data and systems expert to play a key leadership role in our BSO Outstanding British curriculum international school. The successful candidate will join the whole-school Senior Leadership Team.
The role requires teamwork, excellent communication skills, the ability to act on your own initiative, attention to detail and an analytical and logical approach. Applicants should be motivated with excellent IT skills to develop and maintain the high quality of data management and all associated systems in the school.
The role demands extensive experience and knowledge of educational data management and interpretation. You will report to the Vice Principal, presenting up to date statistical reports relating to all aspects of student progress, attainment and exams results, working alongside the senior leadership teams within the school. An essential element of the role is the ability to analyse complex data, to design and produce comprehensive reports and have an understanding of school performance statistics.
Expert knowledge of SIMS, Nova T6 and MS Power BI (or other/ similar software/ systems) would be a distinct advantage.
The postholder must be able to work under pressure, prioritising and managing expectations and have good interpersonal skills. You must demonstrate the ability to interact effectively and sympathetically with all stakeholders in the school community.
Although a senior role, the postholder will be expected to teach a part timetable, dependent on school need. Any subject specialism will be considered.
